The Task Force for the Twenty-First Century Economy was established by the 86th General Assembly of Arkansas to study the role and scope of economic development in the 21st Century in Arkansas, and to identify the programs and services needed for continued development in Arkansas. Additional objectives mandated to the Task Force were to examine the constitutional prohibition on state equity investments and the current structure of the state’s economic development agencies in light of the needs of a 21st Century economy.
